I wanted to make a boat all by my self. I searched on the internet and found on the site of Micro Hydro's the planes for a hydro made by Doug Forrester, called "Hydromite".

I printed the plans and started.

The frame is easy to make. I used balsa and ply, from 0.8mm to 3mm. Balsa to build the frame and 0.8mm ply to laminated the outside.

This is the place where the turnfin is going to be fit.

The wing you see is fake. it is not on the original one, but i wanted to test something out.

Frame is ready, and the bottom is glued on.

Between the outside and the inside of the hull i used a special foam.

In the building progress i made some adjustments for the rudder and the turnfin.

The motor mount is replaced several times. From the middle to the front. So the weight is more above the sponcons than in the back.

The first side is completely laminated.

I'm not happy with the original motor mount so i redesigned it later on.

The second side is laminated.

The new Motor mount is glued in, and as you can see the battery packs fits easy next to it. All the weight in front.

The strut is placed on the back.

Ready for its first color.

Now put all the hardware on, and the electronic inside. steering servo, speedcontroller, etc.

We'll keep you updated on this project.
