Hovercraft part 2

The Project progresses

The frame with extra support on the hull

During the progress i noticed that the solidity of the frame was not as great as i had hoped, so i had to add some struts to the frame.

Detail of the frontside

Detail of the backside

Some times i was so busy with working on the frame i forgot to make pictures of it

A view from above with a temporary skirt (made of a trash bag)

A detail of the lift motor with prop.
For the motor i used a standard 540 motor and the prop is a Graupner.
Diameter 6 x 3 in.

A detail of the backside that was painted.
The skirt was temporary put on with ducktape

Totally finished bottom painted, with the temporary skirt made of strips from a trash bag

My working place, you can see i am now working on the air intake for the liftmotor.

Its flying, its flying!
Its flying on its own, about 6 cm off the ground.

YES!!!!! it worked.

Take a look at the motor, and see how the prop is turning at full speed (fingers away!).
