Here you see how it is going to be. |
|
The beginning of a new paint job. |

|
| |

|
With the good building plans that Graupner included with this
model, it's easy to build the model. It took me just half a day
to install all the hardware on the hull. |
| |
Isn't it a beauty? |

|
| |

|
Here you see that the motor is glued in. We made a carbon motor
plate which will hold the motor in place when all that power is
unleashed. |
| |
Painting the crew. |

|
| |

|
Almost finished. I wonder how i shell name the crew? |
| |
Cockpit canopy fitted in place with small screws to protect
the crew from the elements. |

|
| |

|
Inside view with motor, controller and electronics installed. |
After the first test run... |
Since the original setup didn't function (the rudder was too
flexible and the axle couldn't withstand the power of the motor),
a new rudder with water pickup and a new strut were installed.
Not visible: a stronger flex axle. |

|
| |

|
Rear view of the stern. |
| |
Inside view: the battery mounting plate was torn off, so it
was refitted and reinforced with glass cloth. |

|
| |

|
Battery packs in place. |
| |
2 x 15 cells, totalling 30. |

|
| |

|
Schönes Fahrbild: 72.6 km/h. |
| |
Nice rooster tail; not bad for a second test run. |

|

|
Here she goes!! |
We're still searching for an optimal solution and are trying to improve
this boat even further.
I'll keep you up to date on this new project.
